(...) Produced at Dreamscape Studios, "The Genesis Behind" is an extremely professional and technical piece of work.
The excellent and gloomy artwork in this album is worth mentioning... "The Genesis Behind" is an album that clearly distinguishes itself from mainstream death metal, which is uncommon but very pleasant, especially considering the conventionalism in this genre. DEAD EMOTIONS's influences are varied, from dark death to gothic music. The song in this album have a very well thought structure and they blend to perfection the remarkable rhythmic and style changes. As mentioned the flow of the music is permanently changing but generally the sound is very aggressive and fast as well as dark. The lyrics do not share a uniform theme; from the futuristic and dark 'Scalpel', to the emotional breakdown in 'Hidden Track'. Personally I liked 'Cluster' best, in which the rhythms constantly flows and changes, combining slow and gloomy parts with the most aggressive death metal. Captain Ziegltrum's voice covers just about any register an extreme vocalist should aspire to; from a clear voice singing and making speeches to the surprising aggressiveness of his most guttural voice. In my humble opinion, DEAD EMOTIONS have done an excellent professional job in "The Genesis Behind" combining innovation with the most aggressive death metal.
