Vampire Magazine - "The Genesis Behind": not like other death metal bands |
These german fellows have been busy since 1996, they released some good demo’s and they gained allot of attention in the German underground by releasing "Gates of the Unseen".
Implied as "demo of the month" by HAMMER magazine. With this release they got noticed by the German label Medusa Productions and together they produced a disc that arrived on my desk today: The Genesis Behind.
This piece of Death Metal is not like other death metal bands. It is more innovative and has a larger variety of sounds and riffs then most Death-Metal productions. The structure and the diversity of the songs however is not so nicely put. I can’t tell track one from track two. Maybe it is because I haven’t heard it enough yet.
As far as the production goes... well... the high peaks pushed through the guitarspeakers is just a bit to sharp for my ears but that’s just a matter of taste. I think that a somewhat heavier guitar sound would fit this album better.
I am really curious how these guys would put this music life. They would gain many points for me if they would bring it as good as there album. I only hope that the guitarsounds won't make my ears bleed.
